2 Μαΐ 2017 · Around 3 weeks after my initial GP appointment, on a Thursday, I met with my surgeon for the first time. he confirmed that the biopsy taken during colonoscopy showed a moderately well differentiated carcinoma. He explained that he intended to carry out a Laparascopic High Anterior Resection (Sigmoid Colectomy).

9 Αυγ 2022 · In addition, as you know, there are several bowel conditions that lead to similar symptoms. Your GP is playing it by the book and first checking a stool sample and then pursuing a colonoscopy appointment if the FIT shows anything abnormal. I totally understand your anxiety but it often takes weeks to diagnose anything.
4 Δεκ 2021 · To answer your question, yes very rarely something is missed in a colonoscopy and other diagnostic tests, none of them are 100% reliable. I had a colonoscopy very recently and the endoscopist in fact listed missing something as one of the ‘risks’ of the procedure.

Had my first colonoscopy in December (2011) after surgery the year before (2010).It revealed a new polyp which is probably inflammatory but what worries me is the ileo rectal anastomosis is ulcerated. I have been referred back to the surgeon but have had to wait and am still waiting for a repeat colonoscopy which will ...

February 10, 2022. @Snowdrop Hi I think (no medical qualification) that why you can have anemia is that the cancer cells are the ones getting first daps at all your nutrients etc. Feeling really tired or being anaemic can be the only signs of bowel cancer. xx.
30 Οκτ 2023 · I have recently been diagnosed with colon cancer following the removal of a polyp from my sigmoid colon using an EMR procedure. The 25mm polyp had an adverse lift and was described as pT1 R1 SM3. A tumour roughly 2mm by 3.5mm was found within the polyp and it was not possible to identify a clear 1mm margin around the tumour.
20 Μαρ 2024 · I had a laparoscopic high anterior resection on the 9th April. I received histology/biopsy results last Thursday where I was told that all margins of the tumor and colon removed are free of cancer (R0), and that all 27 lymph nodes removed were cancer free (N0). I therefore do not need to have adjuvant chemo therapy.
