Megan Kilgore is the Auditor for the City of Columbus. She is the first woman to ever hold the position for the nation’s 14th most populous city.
The City Auditor's Office and its Division of Income Tax is responsible for maintaining high-quality fiscal processing, tax collection and audit, debt management, record keeping, and reporting to our residents, the business community, city departments and divisions, and other interested parties.
The City Auditor's Office publishes an audited Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR) and other financial statements. In addition, other City of Columbus agencies provide data visualizations at another site.
The general fund is the chief operating fund of the City. It is used to account for all financial resources except those required to be accounted for in another fund. The City collects revenue from various sources including taxes, permit fees, and charges for services.
Megan Kilgore is the Auditor of the City of Columbus. She was elected on November 7, 2017, winning more votes than her opponent in every precinct. She is the first woman elected to the office and the first openly LGBTQ person elected to the executive branch of Columbus.
