In general I have had a subscription to Consumers Reports online and have used it a few times when buying appliances. I mainly used it in 2019 when we were renovating our old kitchen, and in 2020 when we had to buy a new dishwasher, and a new refrigerator. I have shared the password with friends and family as well.

22 Μαΐ 2018 · Bottom line, though, Consumer Reports is a fine, honest, upstanding organization that provides real value for money, and if you want to know their recommendations, you owe it to yourself and all CR readers to buy a subscription to the print mag, at the very least.

Their reliability scores are also only looking at the first five years. 11 Φεβ 2024 · BMW has ranked high in reliability for a while now. The reliability of the E series cars isn’t current anymore. BMW and Mini's reliability has greatly improved over the last decade. The problem's with CR's methodology have become more and more obvious over the past decade.

You can see this in their Tesla review. User "Satisfaction" is always insanely high, even when the user self reported "Reliability" on Teslas is very low. Comes with a lot of Tesla owners bein smug and satisfied with their admittedly cool car, and choosing to overlook a myriad of quality problems that often come up.
12 Μαρ 2021 · I use Consumer Reports through local library when I need to reference (I’m American). On the other hand, as many have mentioned they don’t update very often. I regularly use The Wirecutter for reviews and choices of all types of smaller items from baby stuff to TVs. Highly recommend!

Small SUV: Subaru Forester. Midsized Sedan: Honda Accord. Hybrid: Toyota Prius and Prius Prime. $35,000-$45,000.
19 Μαρ 2023 · Consumer reports doesn’t run ads and is a nonprofit. For most considered purchases I will trust them more than other rating sites. Based on their reviews, I went with the Alen Breathesmart 75. It’s not small and is only quiet on its lowest setting. I run it on auto, so it’s only on the lowest setting half the time.
