Crazyhorse is an American magazine that publishes fiction, poetry, and essays.
Formerly known as Crazyhorse, swamp pink publishes fiction, poetry, and nonfiction semi-monthly online. Our aim is to continue publishing exceptional work from writers at all stages of their careers.
Our magazine was founded in Los Angeles in 1960 and titled after the Lakota Chief, Crazy Horse. In the years that followed, it traveled to Murray State in Kentucky, then the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, before finally arriving in Charleston.

Work from crazyhorse has been reprinted in Best American Poetry, Best American Short Stories, Best American Nonrequired Reading, and The Pushcart Prize anthologies.
Crazyhorse reads year-round and welcomes submissions of fiction, poetry, and non-fiction/essay. Please send up to 25 pages of prose or 3-5 poems. We do not accept e-mail submissions, but do accept simultaneous submissions on the good faith that you will notify us immediately if your work is accepted elsewhere.
