The Japanese version supposedly claims it can duck faster than the speed of light. I wonder what the ramifications of this excessive speed would have on the Diglett and its environment.

Yeah, Diglett's Cave is a hell of a lot scarier in FR/LG than R/B/Y, especially if you get that Dugtrio encounter. Used to be a great place to grind, now it's a great place for any non-Flying/Levitate Pokemon to die.

As a result, each triplet thinks exactly like the other two triplets". I don't exactly know how it's revealed that they have feet and what exactly is said, but it seems to fit with your theory.
