Doofus Rick isn't stupid, he is just as smart as every other Rick and possibly in the way that could have mattered most. The universes inside the curve are the ones where Rick is the smartest man in the universe, including Doofus Rick's dimension, he just has a very quirky dorky behavior and appearance.

Old, but this isn't necessarily the case. Doofus Rick is as smart as other Ricks. He just isn't an asshole. Kinda like simple Rick he values other things in life.Doofus Kerry could be dumber than Doofus Rick but Doofis Jerry is also extremely ruthless. Heck evil Morty isn't smarter than our Rick.
I like the thought of doofus jerry i just dont want the show to play it out the same way the comics did it i think they should add him since they did just kill off rick prime and possibly evil morty. Yes, the Rick in question was C-137, and designated as such during the arc. All arcs past “Head-Space” (bar “The Rickoning”) follow C-137, due to the new writer (who came one with volume 3) wanting to write for that version specifically, quietly switching focus from then onwards — “A Tale of Two Jerries”.
