It was first released on December 10, 1993, when a shareware copy was uploaded to an FTP server at the University of Wisconsin.
On April 30, 1995, an updated version of the game, The Ultimate Doom, was released which had an additional fourth episode, "Thy Flesh Consumed", in addition to the original three episodes. Intended for the nostalgic Doom fans everywhere, Masters of Doom.
