12 Αυγ 2024 · It's a neat mod but I can't imagine actually playing the game like this, at least with the setup they've got in the video. The effects are so over the top it's hard to actually tell what's going on. I like moodier takes on classic Doom also like PS1 Doom and Doom 64 but this kills readability too much.
26 Οκτ 2017 · For those not in the know, Brutal Doom is a mod for Doom/Doom 2. To play Doom legally today, you can use the WADs off buying Doom on Steam, as well as the WADs that come with Doom 3/BFG. Brutal Doom works with both Doom and Doom 2. There's also a fan remake of Doom 64 which has also been given the Brutal makeover.

8 Αυγ 2024 · One thing that's super frickin cool is that the new stuff made for Legacy of Rust is stored in its own wad files, for mappers to use. id1.wad is the episode with everything included, id1_weap.wad and id1_res.wad are for mappers.
22 Ιουλ 2018 · Tested in ZDoom, Chocolate Doom, and some other source ports. Works under vanilla parameters. All you need is a legit Doom 2 IWAD. If you remember Doom 64 EX, that was different in that it was pretty much a port of the N64 game to PC, retaining all its art and sound. Playing it required a Doom 64 ROM and I believe worked under its own source port.

8 Αυγ 2024 · My immediate impression so far is that Doom 2 has substantially better level design than its predecessor did. Like it's very evident. Levels in Doom 1 often felt like they lacked a certain coherence; like they consisted of rooms and corridors strewn together haphazardly, without thinking about adding some sort of signature. Doom 2 fixes that.
