A driver log book template is a type of document that uses to monitor and document the daily trips and activities that drivers do. The drivers who use this document are bus drivers, train drivers, company drivers and taxi drivers.
Even though the Department of Transport (DOT) doesn’t look at driver’s logs every day, it’s important to fill them out on a daily basis. Failing to fill out the driver’s daily log may cause problems down the road, especially if a driver’s log is not updated when inspected by the DOT.
The US DoT regulations require that all drivers complete a “driver daily logbook” containing the following: date, the average number of hours behind the wheel, off-duty hours, total start time and end time, city, state, and zip code as to where the driver was at that particular time.
