25 Ιαν 2012 · My dragon fruit plants of more than 4 yrs of age are not fruiting, despite a few bursts of flowering. I bought it from Garden R Us and it is supposed to be self-pollinating: red. I wonder if I will regret it if I give it the axe (because of space constraints) soon as I have received a few cuttings from a friend who has been enjoying the red fruits from her dragon fruit trees.

Aztec Gem is a very deep purple fleshed dragon fruit and tastes sweet and fruity. A moderate grower, Aztec Gem is self pollinating, if you are wanting more fruit you can hand pollinate. They flower at night and into the morning. The presence of moths will enhance pollination. Weight of fruit can be 300-400g.

Are you sure you have a Dragon Fruit or could it be another type of night-flowering cactus that looks very similar? I have seen some cacti that are remarkably similar to Dragon Fruit (and I mistakenly grew one once). 20 Οκτ 2014 · Last year i waited till almost midnight for the flower to fully open and tried to hand polinate, But there was No pollen on the male bit, so again no fruit. This year i waited till the flower was half open and did the hand polinting trick and there was POLLEN, 12 fruit have set, waiting to see what variety they are and will report back.
