Edwin Frank Duchin (April 1, 1909 – February 9, 1951), commonly known as Eddy Duchin or alternatively Eddie Duchin, [3] was an American popular music pianist and bandleader during the 1930s and 1940s.
Duchin started as a pianist with Leo Reisman and His Orchestra, having abandoned studies in pharmacy. Due to his flashy piano playing, as well as his personal charisma, he assumed Reisman's place as leader of the 10-piece Central Park Casino Orchestra in 1931.
