15 Νοε 2024 · The core mission of the European Institute of Public Administration (EIPA) is to provide insights and practical knowledge about EU policies.
EIPA was created in 1981 on the occasion of the first European Council held in Maastricht. We are supported by the EU Member States and the European Commission. Cross-national and cross-institutional comparative, analytical perspectives on EU policies.
Maastricht is thus the perfect location for the headquarters of EIPA, which continues to consistently support the European Union objectives in learning and development. Most of EIPA’s activities, including courses, research, and consultancy, are based in Maastricht.

EIPA’s publications address key issues for public management, EU governance and EU law, and form an integral part of the institute’s services. They are written either by EIPA’s own scientific staff or by one of our network of external experts.
The Court of Justice of the European Union is based in Luxembourg. So as a leading European city, with a strategic location landlocked by Germany, France & Belgium, Luxembourg City was a natural choice as a second home for EIPA, especially for its law-based courses.

EPSA – the European Public Sector Award – is a Europe-wide award scheme for public sector entities at all levels of government which has been organised every two years since 2009 by the European Institute of Public Administration (EIPA).
