El Mirage Lake is a dry lake bed in the northwestern Victor Valley of the central Mojave Desert, within San Bernardino County, California. The lake is located about 9 miles (14 km) west-northwest of the town of Adelanto and 10 mi (16 km) north of Highway 18 in San Bernardino County.
What is El Mirage? El Mirage dry lake bed has been home to Land Speed Racing (LSR) for more than half a century. It is located just 30 miles east of a growing high desert community known as the Antelope Valley.
The El Mirage OHV Recreation Area is managed by the BLM’s Barstow Field Office (BAFO) and encompasses 27,275 acres with recreation opportunities for motorcycles, ATVs, trucks, cars, buggies, land yachts, model airplanes, model rockets, ultra-light aircraft, gyrocopters, and parasails.

El Mirage Dry Lake Off-Highway Vehicle (OHV) Area consists of the 4800 acre dry lakebed with in the 24,400 acres of public land for motorized recreation. It's located 13 miles north west of Adelanto. The lakebed is wide and flat surrounded by rolling, rocky hills.
