Elbow bursitis is painful swelling around your elbow joint. It’s inflammation in the olecranon bursa — the fluid-filled sac that surrounds and protects your elbow.
The main symptoms are pain and tenderness – on the outside of the elbow for tennis elbow, and on the inside for golfer’s elbow. People may also have pain when gripping. The level of pain can vary from person to person, ranging from a mild discomfort to a severe ache that prevents you from sleeping.
