  1. Abstract. All fish eggs are surrounded by an envelope, called the zona pellucida (ZP), that plays various roles during oogenesis, egg deposition, fertilization, and embryogenesis. The fish egg ZP consists of only a few proteins that are homologs of mammalian ZP proteins ZP1, ZP3, and ZP4.

  2. 10 Δεκ 2023 · In the present study, DNA barcodes were used to assess the diversity of fish eggs in the Equatorial Southwestern Atlantic, a rich but understudied region. We sampled two seascapes for analyzing the fish diversity: seagrass and rhodolith beds. Collectively, 112 fish eggs were sorted for genetic analysis, of which 31 were successfully sequenced.

  3. 1 Μαΐ 2019 · The fish eggs in the microscopic images were either positioned as a single whole egg, as incomplete eggs, or as adjoining eggs. Despite image noise pollution, poor boundary definition of eggs and different egg positions, fish eggs were recognised, segmented and counted with 100% accuracy compared to manual observation in all the captured images ( Table 1 ).

  4. 1 Ιουν 2023 · The FE is many fish species, mainly freshwater such as cyprinids, Coregonus, or some percids is the external part of chorion made up mainly of neutral or acidic mucopolysaccharides and is responsible for the eggs adhering to the substrate allowing appropriate incubation conditions (Kudo and Teshima, 1991, Linhart et al., 1995, Murray et al., 2013, Zarski et al., 2015).

  5. 1 Φεβ 2010 · Carotenoids within fish eggs are located in oil droplets (chylomicra particles) or in association with lipoproteins (Ando and Hatano, 1991). Retinals are the main stored form of retinoids in fish eggs and ovaries (Plack, 1964) and may constitute almost 100% of all retinoids in eggs of marine fish (Irie and Seki, 2002).

  6. 1 Ιουν 2019 · Abstract. In situ observations of incubating fish eggs can identify spawning sites and spawning habitat preferences, informing the ecology of fishes with benthic eggs. Suction pumps have been used to sample benthic-incubating, non-adhesive fish eggs, yet their sampling efficiency is not well known. Imperfect or systematically variable egg ...

  7. 30 Ιαν 2024 · Atlantic salmon (S. salar) eggs and milt were obtained from broodstock fish at Lerøy Midt AS avd. Aakvik, Halsa Municipality, Norway. Approximately 15,000 eggs were pooled from three different females and transported to NTNU SeaLab, Trondheim, Norway. The time interval between the collection and fertilization of gametes was approximately 24 h.

  8. 1 Φεβ 2020 · In this sense, studies focusing on the effects of acidification in the early stages of fish life gain notoriety, as effects such as increased incubation time, unviability of eggs, mortality and larval deformities have already been evaluated (Ferreira et al., 2001; Zaniboni- Filho et al., 2009; Reynalte-Tataje et al., 2015).

  9. 1 Ιαν 1988 · 4. EFFECTS O F POLLUTANTS ON FISH EGGS AND LARVAE 295 ability of the embryo. In the majority of the cases, whenever hatching is affected, embryos experimentally liberated from the chorion remain in a curled position unable to swim, indicating failures in development that prevented hatching.

  10. 30 Μαρ 2020 · They concluded that simulated fish eggs could be used for research into the transport of fish eggs. Few studies have focused on the terminal settling velocity of floating fish eggs. The eggs absorb water for a certain period of time after spawning, greatly changing their densities and diameters ( Chapman and Deters, 2009 ; Chapman and George, 2011 ).
