Forks Township is a township in Northampton County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population of Forks Township was 14,721 as of the 2010 census. It is part of the Lehigh Valley metropolitan area, which had a population of 861,899 and was the 68th-most populous metropolitan area in the U.S. as of the 2020 census.
The county covers 452 square miles (1,170 km 2), of which 450 square miles (1,165 km 2) is land and 2 square miles (5.2 km 2) (0.53%) is water. Its municipalities range in size from the borough of Dushore with 0.9 square miles (2.3 km 2) to Davidson Township with 78.2 square miles (203 km 2).
The area comprising Forks Township had been inhabited by Native Americans and then by early Dutch travelers who started trade during the early 1600s. Prior to the infamous Walking Purchase of 1737, the Lenni-Lenape Indians were the principal inhabitants of the area.
