The George Washington University Law School (GW Law) is the law school of George Washington University, in Washington, D.C. Established in 1865, GW Law is the oldest law school in the national capital.
You may explore a wide variety of legal fields in depth through more than 275 elective courses, find opportunities for mentorship, participate in clinical opportunities helping actual clients in the diverse DC area, and take advantage of our DC location to gain year-round externship experience.
GW Law employs a highly selective JD admissions process, given that historically the number of applicants has significantly exceeded the number of seats available in the entering class. The review process is comprehensive.
International Students. If you are an international student, you will need to provide the Admissions Office with a statement of adequate funding in the amount of the Cost of Attendance (in U.S. dollars) for each year of the three-year, full-time JD program, from your own (or your sponsor’s) funds, to cover educational and living expenses.
