Across all of Hawaii’s islands, the field of cosmetology is regulated by the Hawaii Board of Barbering and Cosmetology. You must choose an accredited school if you want to earn a Hawaii cosmetology license.
License Requirements: Must be at least 16 years of age (or 17 years for barbers). Must have high school education or equivalent. Reciprocity: Hawaii grants reciprocity to all applicants with a current license from a state with equal or greater requirements.
