There are two types of hepatitis A vaccines: single-antigen and combination. The single-antigen vaccine protects against hepatitis A and the combination vaccine protects against both hepatitis A and hepatitis B. You can only receive the combination vaccine if you’re 18 years or older.
12 Ιουν 2024 · What is Havrix? Havrix is a hepatitis A vaccine. Hepatitis is a serious disease caused by a virus. Hepatitis causes inflammation of the liver, vomiting, and jaundice (yellowing of the skin or eyes). Hepatitis can lead to liver cancer, cirrhosis, or death.
The vaccine scheduler table summarizes the current vaccination schedule for young children, adolescents, and adults for Hepatitis A. The data is updated regularly with the most recent official country reporting collected through the WHO/UNICEF joint reporting process.
Depending on the manufacturer, adults are given the vaccine in a 2-dose series at 0 and 6 to 12 months (Havrix) or 0 and 6 to 18 months (Vaqta). Or adults may be given the combination HepA and HepB vaccine on a 3-dose schedule: at 0, 1, and 6 months.
