The Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn (Latin: Ordo Hermeticus Aurorae Aureae), more commonly the Golden Dawn (Aurora Aurea), was a secret society devoted to the study and practice of occult Hermeticism and metaphysics during the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
Certainly some of the parts of the Golden Dawn rituals may be discovered in different ancient and mediaeval books on Magic. This has never been denied by any of its more informed members who have an eye to research. But what the Order and its scribes have performed is a much subtler thing.
The modern-day Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn is a magical Order reactivated in 1977 in Columbus, Georgia. This Order’s mentor and guiding light was the late Dr. Israel Regardie, our Very Honored Frater A.M.A.G.
Today, the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn is alive and thriving. The Order serves as a custodian of the Hermetic Tradition, keeping the knowledge of this tradition intact, while at the same time instructing those individuals called to the Initiatory Path of the Mysteries.
