So time to get outside with your friends and family to fly your very own balsa glider! This project is great to help your kids learn basic crafting skills involving cutting, sanding, and drilling; and will be a great addition to your summer fun!

Design to Fly: Balsa Gliders: Use basic materials like pencils, paper, scissors, ruler, etc. (and maybe some high-tech tools!) to design and test your own balsa glider. Use the files provided to cut a glider body on a laser cutter, plotter or even a blade.

To construct an indoor catapult-launch glider, you will need the following: Ballpoint pen. Balsa wood* Clay for nose ballast. Glue. Indoor catapult-launch glider plan. Lip balm cap for dimensioning the nose. Sanding sticks. Sharp knife. Steel ruler in metric. Very fine marker.
