7 Ιουν 2024 · Starfish (or sea stars) are beautiful marine animals found in a variety of colors, shapes, and sizes. All starfish resemble stars, and though the most common have only five arms, some of these animals can grow up to 40 arms.
There are around 1,600 different species of starfish living in the world’s oceans, where they occupy every type of habitat including tidal pools, rocky shores, sea grass, kelp beds and coral reefs. Some starfish are even found on sandy seabeds 9,000 metres deep!
