Armand uses "Maitre" when he wants to disarm Louis and hide how thoroughly he controls what's happening. First time he says it is when he gets Louis to commit to him in Paris. Second time was when Louis promised to stay with him if he spared Daniel. Armand has a terribly sad story and he's extremely sympathetic.

Several of the line reads and takes used are different and they also removed a lot of the nudity. It's clear now that the difference is actually between the new uncut vs. cut versions on AMC (HBO seems to be showing the uncut version).

Upon reflection in the space of the years between, it seems his perspective on Lestat and their relationship has shifted. Although Daniel still feels it's bullshit, let's see how the story unfolds and what resolution Louis and Daniel come to.

Can we be serious here? Most straight men won't be attracted to gay content and amc's audience is predominantly male, I'm just being honest, and I'm not saying that we should please them, they are not the target audience, and that's not a big reason for the lack of audience, amc failed to disclose the streaming in several countries, most had to resort to piracy.
I find the theory that Marius was some secret/ambivalent racist who was ashamed or did not want to acknowledge his association with armand unconvincing to say the least.
