  4. In short, when you care that let a variable assigned from a possible null undefined source, and you wish to provide a default value to the variable, use the nullish coalescing operator ??. If you want to avoid messing yourself around with the JavaScript definition of falsy truthy [1], then avoid using ||.

  6. Old thread but thought I'd just add that the reason developers use this construct is not to create a dead link, but because javascript URLs for some reason do not pass references to the active html element correctly. e.g. handler_function(this.id) works as onClick but not as a javascript URL.

I would have thought document.parent or parent.container would work but I keep getting not defined errors. Note that the pDoc is defined, just not certain variables of it. Any ideas? P.S. I would prefer to avoid jQuery if possible.

  10. In javaScript, we can't loop through objects normally as we would on arrays, so, there are a few elements we can use to access either of our choices from an object. Object.keys(object-name-goes-here) >>> Returns the keys or properties of an object. Object.values(object-name-goes-here) >>> Returns the values of an object.
