19 Φεβ 1985 · Saturday afternoon was a day to remember the present as well as the past, as the Kent State wrestling team defeated the defending Mid-American Conference champion Miami Redskins 34-8 on KSU Wrestling Alumni Day, The final regular-season dual meet was highlighted by the Flashes winning eight of the 10 weight classes.
A number of Golden Flashes alumni have gone on to play and coach in both college and major professional sports, such as Jack Lambert, Antonio Gates, Nick Saban, Lou Holtz, Thurmon Munson, and Emmanuel Burriss. Mid-American Conference logo in Kent State's colors. Kent State joined the MAC in 1951.
