La Paz Waterfall Gardens is known as one of the most beautiful waterfalls of Costa Rica an hour away from San Jose, with both rain and cloud forests.
After a slightly disappointing visit to the Poas Volcano, we drove a short distance to visit La Paz. Gorgeous! It's a bit pricey but you can spend the day viewing the butterflies, monkeys, big cats, and reptiles, too.
La Paz Waterfall Gardens is a popular privately owned ecological attraction. This walk is an animal sanctuary with more than 100 species and environmental education programs. There is an entrance fee. Check the park's site for more information on hours and fees.
