Admissions > Application Process. UNC School of Law receives approximately 2,500 applications each year from students in North Carolina, across the U.S and around the world. Approximately 180 of those who apply join the Carolina Law family.
J.D. Requirements. Total hours required – 86 credit hours (of which 65 must be in regularly scheduled class sessions). Classes that meet in law school classrooms on a regular basis, clinics, and approved foreign study-abroad courses are considered “regularly scheduled class sessions.”
To apply, you must: Have a bachelor’s degree from a fully accredited college or university by the date of anticipated enrollment. Have taken the Law School Admission Test (LSAT) administered by the Law School Admission Council (LSAC) within the last five years. Register with the Credential Assembly Service (CAS).
