4 Δεκ 2023 · Junior Member. In the late 1980s, my brother used to play this tape with a minute or two of each song with an introduction to each song by a male. Songs from famous singers like Lionel Richie, George Michael, and Phil Collins are names I can remember. The tape had some 50 song snippets. I cannot find details of this tape anywhere.
25 Δεκ 2011 · 4) Rush - 2112 I kind of had a hard time picking which Rush album to pick here since All the World's a Stage was the first album I heard from them, tracks from Farewell to Kings were the first I really got into but I still wasn't thoroughly hooked (had a real problem with male singers having a high pitched voice back then) until I heard 2112.

When bands like Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd came along, to me they were just more of one of my favorite styles of music. My mother's taste ran towards male lounge singers like Sinatra, Robert Goulet, Tony Bennett, and Gordon Macrae. I especially liked broadway power ballad songs, like "Soliloquy" from Carousel.

They also have two lead singers, one male and one female, a feature that English band Mostly Autumn adopted. They also delve into folk music at times, while retaining a heavy guitar sound.
