17 Μαρ 2022 · True local scar recurrence. I was diagnosed with stage 1a in September 2021. .4mm, clark 3, no mitosis. Was told it was as low risk of a lesion as you could get. Last week I noticed that some pigment was forming in the scar right below where the melanoma has been.

7 Αυγ 2011 · After ultrasound and biopsy (during which the radiologist told that "it didn't look like melanoma – it wasn't black throughout the sample"), it came back positive for melanoma. I had a LND and had 26 nodes removed, only one positive for melanoma. It was the size of a golf ball.

I have met with a surgical oncologist and have a WLE scheduled in 11 days, and will also have sentinel node (s) removed and sent to pathology. I’m not sure what stage I am, I do know my melanoma was 2mm. To say I am freaking out, is an understatement.

Atypical, even serverly atypical, does not mean melanoma. A lesion can stay severly atypical without ever becoming cancerous. I would certainly not worry about an excision you had 9 years ago.
