Laird Samuel Barron (born March 5, 1970) is an American author and poet, much of whose work falls within the horror, noir, or horror noir and dark fantasy genres. He has also been the managing editor of the online literary magazine Melic Review. He lives in Upstate New York. [1] Barron spent his early years in Alaska. [2] .
14 Ιουν 2024 · The Melic Review seeks poems, essays and fiction of the highest quality. We prefer fiction under a thousand words and poetry under fifty lines but will make exceptions for longer works of exceptional merit. Five thousand words is the absolute limit for fiction, two hundred lines for poetry.
Some of my poems from 2000 are still featured online at Melic Review. This may be ancient history at this point, but the site archives are still up. Folk horror legend Laird Barron was managing editor at the time, and it was an honour to work with editor C.E. Chaffin, gone too soon.

Yet, this wide range of topics foregrounds a straightforward premise: we must contend with reception for a fuller understanding of melic, iambic, and elegiac poetry of the seventh through the fifth centuries BCE.
