Wellspring Farm in WNC breeds and sells merino sheep, moorit, white and natural color alongwith with fiber products.
We raise Merino, Jacob and Tunis Sheep for fiber, breeding stock and spinners flock animals. We also have a lovely herd of llamas. Our products include rovings, combed top, batts, fleeces, yarns and finished wool goods. In addition we offer tours, workshops and lessons.
The Merino background in the Corriedale produces a very soft yarn. It is an excellent choice for sweaters, hats, mittens, socks, scarves and afghans. Our newest yarn offering is MEADOWSPUN, a blend of 70% wool and 30% mohair from our sheep and goats.
Each year, we have a select number of Merino lambs and adults available for new homes. Whether you are looking into Merino sheep, looking for your next stud ram, or looking for the perfect ewe lamb for your ewe flock, we have it! Get on our list to be contacted when Merinos are available in 2024!

Merino Sheep. The Delaine Merino is a type of Merino sheep predominant in North America. It has fewer skin wrinkles than other types of Merino, but still has a fine, oily fleece. It is the most practical of the merino line and much easier to care for than those types with excessive folds.
Often referred to as the american Merino, the Corriedale The Corriedale is a cross between the Merino and the English Lincoln Longwool. The name Corriedale was chosen to be the proper name in 1902. The Corriedale is a dual purpose sheep, know for their beautiful wool qualities and meat.
