GReddy Turbo Kits. All GReddy Turbo and Turbo Upgrade kits exclusively use GReddy Spec. Mitsubishi turbo chargers. Greddy turbo kits are design and tested to match the best-sized turbo per application. This means you get good response, smooth driveability, performance that can still be upgraded, and lasting reliability.
Ideal for bolt-on turbo or supercharger kits or high-flow N/A applications, this version features large diameter 76mm (3”) muffler and piping, with only a short inlet portion of 63.5mm (2.5”) to allow it to still bolt up to factory catalytic converter flanges.
The base GReddy kit was designed to add some oomph to the stock 1.6L Mazda Miata so we wouldn't be outrun by minivans. =) It came with all the parts necessary to run 4.5psi of boost. It was put together as a low boost kit built around the Mitsubishi TD04H-15G turbo.
With over 40 years of performance turbocharger experience, GReddy is able to offer the best combination of response and peak power by properly matching the turbocharger size and design to suit any application from high-power, top-level race cars to GReddy’s own Bolt-on, Tuner Turbo and Turbo Upgrade kit lines.
12 Αυγ 2007 · I decided on the Greddy turbo kit as I can't see me going past about 200bhp (time will tell ), it's an all-in-one package which uses a Mitsubishi TD04 turbo so you can, if you want, put it on straight out the box and drive off, and it is available in the UK for a reasonable amount of money.
Engine management with the stock kit involves simply retarding the timing to 6 deg, and adding an additional fuel pressure regulator. (Search for "Bipes" or "E Manage" for additional mods). At stock boost levels the 1.6 engine takes to FI like a duck to water, and is very reliable.
