Unfortunately, if you used the Authenticator app to generate security codes, you generally can't get those codes directly from your Windows account once you lose access to your phone. These codes are timestamped and can only be generated by the Authenticator app you set up.

12 Ιουν 2024 · I've received a few emails from this sender: account-security-noreply @accountprotection.microsoft.com . I saw a similar post about this and noticed that if there any emails ending with @accountprotection.microsoft.com, is considered trustworthy. However, the content of the email seems dodgy to me. Please see attached image.
The subject was Microsoft Account Security Alert. It read "we think that someone else might have accessed the Microsoft account (then it showed my email). There was a link to click that said "Recover account" I did not click on the link. Instead I logged into my account and changed my password.

9 Φεβ 2024 · I quite often use a VPN service and I think in my case that is why Microsoft thinks that something weird might be going on. As a precaution never react/click on the links in such email alerts, just go to a Microsoft site where you know you you have a profile and sign in there. To clarify, you are not being asked to change your Gmail password.
