Most mountain peaks of Canada lie in the west, specifically in British Columbia, Alberta, and the Yukon. Mountains can be found all over British Columbia while those in Alberta are mainly situated on the eastern side of the Canadian Rockies.
Of these 150 highest major summits of Canada, 102 are located in British Columbia, 37 in Yukon, 13 in Alberta, two in Nunavut, and one in the Northwest Territories. Three of these summits lie on the British Columbia-Alberta border and two lie on the British Columbia-Yukon border.
Of the 100 highest major summits of Canada, five peaks exceed 5000 metres (16,404 feet) elevation, 19 peaks exceed 4000 metres (13,123 feet), 67 peaks exceed 3000 metres (9843 feet), and all 100 peaks equal or exceed 2706 metres (8878 feet) elevation.
