9 Ιαν 2008 · This causes the same chain reaction that Pac-Man has where 256 fruit plus 7 blank spaces are drawn to the screen. We can use a fix very similar, but simpler, to the one that we developed for Pac Man's split screen.
Otherwise known as the "split-screen level" or a "kill screen", the Map 256 Glitch refers to the 256th level in the original Pac-Man. On this stage, the right side of the screen turns into a jumbled mess of numbers and letters, while the left side is normal.

The Ms Pacman investigation had to do with Abdner's original submission of 921K and only stemmed from a piece of information outside of that performance. It seems that when Abdner obtained that score, he had three (3) 8-screen "kill screen" games in a row.
I know people like to know what kill screens occur on various machines so I figured I'd post a picture of it here. I have an original stand-up arcade version with a chip added to the board that has Pac Man and Ms Pac Man, both normal and fast speeds.
