Mount Washington, is an ultra-prominent mountain in the state of New Hampshire. It is the highest peak in the Northeastern United States at 6,288.2 ft (1,916.6 m) and the most topographically prominent mountain east of the Mississippi River. The mountain is notorious for its erratic weather.

Hiking Mount Washington. This easy-access day hike delivers comparable—if not superior—panoramic views and lung-busting switchbacks to Mount Si, with significantly less foot traffic. Start by following the signs for John Wayne Trail and Twin Falls at the south end of the parking lot near the bathroom structure.
Mount Washington is the highest mountain in the area and has only grown in popularity due to the footpaths, museums, cog railway and weather extremes.
