The Museum Association of Arizona was founded in 1982 as a non-profit organization dedicated to the enrichment and support of Arizona’s museum community. Its purpose is to: - Foster communication and cooperation between Arizona museums and related organizations.
Individual Membership is open to t hose who work for the success of museums (e.g, staff, independent professionals, museum supporters). Special categories include Board Members, Students, Volunteers, and Retired Professionals.
The Museum Association of Arizona is governed by an all-volunteer Board of Directors, who perform many of the responsibilities of the organization, set policies, and provide future direction. The Board consists of thirteen members intended to represent the diversity of the state.

Founded in 1975, the Museum Association of Arizona is the only statewide association that serves the needs of museums and related organizations in Arizona. The Association works to promote the development and sustainability of museums, provide advocacy and support to museums, and act as a voice for the museum community in Arizona.
