3 Απρ 2023 · They currently recommend either RMG (Rosalie's Mupen GUI), or RetroArch with the Mupen64Plus-Next core. RMG is N64 only and has an interface made for mouse, similar to Project64. 29 Μαΐ 2023 · The recommended N64 emulator in the megathread is listed as retroarch, which is just a frontend. I'm assuming OP wanted to know what emulator is best to use without, or with a different frontend. I came across this thread researching as its been 10+ years since I've emulated N64 games, but Project64 was the goto emu then.
30 Ιαν 2024 · N64 is still relatively new and it's still challenging even on more powerful computers. Under Options (you may need to toggle visibility on for Quick menu item Options) change GFX plugin to Rice and Resolution to 640x480. Because unfortunately the default one is not great and Anbernic missed this one. 1. Reply.
23 Ιουν 2022 · Only ones I tired that I couldn't get to run well we're DK64 and Banjotooie. RetroArch is superior simply bc it has literally EVERY emulator possible on switch without Linux. And tbh only need linux for gamecube. Nintendo switch online n64 is pretty good. Personally would rather use nintedos stuff over retroarch.
26 Δεκ 2021 · Saturn emulation is worse. Only PlayStation from this generation that is emulated to a fairly high standard. N64 is emulated fairly well on a suitably powerful machine. Most likely due to available knowledge of the internal workings of the console. If you only play the top 10 or 20 games everyone tells you to play like Nintendo or Rare made ...
8 Ιουν 2021 · The Wii just isn't really strong enough to handle emulating the N64. The way the Virtual Console got around it was that each N64 game had a custom emulator tailored for it. Reply reply
16 Ιουν 2021 · Pretty much only N64 and PS2 don't run. If you want it for Zelda OoT, you may be better off buying and ripping it from the Wind Waker collector's edition bonus disc. Retroarch itself is not running very well on Series X, but I did test N64 and was able to run some stuff fine.
25 Μαΐ 2022 · Stop jumping, unfortunately it was lies. RetroArch is available for M1 though, if it's any consolation. Although now that I'm looking at it, retroarch-metal doesn't have any n64 cores available at the moment so that's kinda a bummer.
Switch to Mupen64plus-Next core and use Parallel RDP/RSP (in Vulkan). Parallel RDP is similar to angrylion but it's much faster and it allows up-scaling. But at 1x resolution, it gives that N64 authentic look you are looking for. m64p is also a great choice if you don't want to use RetroArch.
