Marine Area 4 is the premier small boat fishery along the Washington coast. Cape Flattery is renowned for its exceptional beauty and salmon fishing during the summer. Neah Bay is the primary access point for Area 4, although some anglers launch at Snow Creek or travel from Sekiu.
There are several ways to participate in the sport fishing opportunities in Neah Bay. Head out to the Pacific Ocean or fish in the Strait of Juan de Fuca. Fish for halibut, lingcod, rockfish, greenling, sea bass and salmon or maybe you are looking to steam up a Dungeness crab.
Fishing the the open ocean off Neah Bay and LaPush can be very rewarding. The weather can always be a factor, so fishing out here is pretty much reserved for the late spring and summer time. Both areas are known to produce good numbers of halibut in the late spring and early summer.
Fishing for a variety of bottom fish out of Neah Bay / Marine Area 4 can be incredible when the season is open. This typically occurs from the second Sat. in March until the Third Sat. in October. Note: Halibut is different, has special opening days linked below and a quota system.

Neah Bay (From Cape Alava north and inside Juan de Fuca Strait to the Sekiu River) Bonilla-Tatoosh Line: A line running from the western end of Cape Flattery 48°22.86’N, 124°43.91’W, to Tatoosh Island Lighthouse 48°23.49’N, 124°44.21’W, then in a straight line to Bonilla Point on Vancouver Island 48°35.73’N, 124°43’W.
