Permit Requirements WHAT IS REQUIRED • Big game hunters in Nebraska must have a species-specific permit for deer, antelope, elk or bighorn sheep. Permits must be signed to be valid. A Nebraska hunt (small game) permit is not required for big game.
Youth may apply for a draw unit permit at age 9 provided they are age 10 by the start of the season. Youth age 16 may hunt on youth deer permits provided they are age 15 when they apply and provided they are age 15 on Sept. 1 (start of the season) of the calendar year.
• Statewide archery permits are valid for mule deer and are available all season. • Due to high demand, Frenchman MDCA and Platte MDCA are allocated via drawing in June.
