Neurologic Music Therapy (NMT)® is an evidence-based clinical treatment system of 20 techniques that is driven by the advances in neuroscience and the understanding of music perception, production, and cognition, and the influence of music on non-musical brain and behavior function.
NMT is an evidence-based treatment system that uses music elements to treat the brain and improve functional abilities. Learn about the training, research, and applications of NMT for various neurologic disorders.
Open to allied professionals who are interested in gaining a deeper understanding of neurologic music therapy (NMT) and music therapists interested in utilizing NMT methodology and techniques. The training will be held in English by Prof. Dr. Michael Thaut and Dr. Corene Hurt-Thaut and NMT-fellows. from 14 upto 17 September 2024.
ACADEMY PURPOSE: The Academy of Neurologic Music Therapy was established in 2002 to advance the professional education and understanding of the scientific, evidence-based practice of Neurologic Music Therapy, and to facilitate the coordinated and cooperative efforts of Neurologic Music Therapist’s throughout the world.
19 Αυγ 2024 · NMT has 14 trademarked sensorimotor, speech, and cognitive techniques. The R. F. Unkefer Academy of Neurologic Music Therapy® hosts 8-10 international trainings a year. This is via a virtual platform, which I attended, and there are in-person sessions all over the globe.
