31 Δεκ 2016 · New York State's Minimum Wage. The statewide $15 minimum wage was enacted as part of the 2016-17 State Budget. The plan takes the needs of workers and businesses alike into account. As of December 31, 2016, the first in a series of wage increases went into effect.
The rates and requirements are in wage orders and summaries, which are available online. Exceptions: Overtime is not required for janitors in residential buildings, for salaried professionals, or for executives and administrative staff whose weekly salary is more than 75 times the minimum wage rate.
The statewide $15 minimum wage will lift the earnings of about a quarter of the state’s total workforce and result in $15.7 billion of direct economic gains. Raising the minimum wage to $15 restores a promise of fairness.

From 1/1/2024 to 12/31/2024, the New York State basic minimum wage is: • $16.00 per hour in New York City. • $16.00 per hour in Long Island and Westchester County. • $15.00 per hour in the Remainder of New York State. And, the minimum wage for fast food workers* is:
