Started in 1999, the Newport Storm Brewery has become a local mainstay of the Rhode Island craft beer market. Known by many as RI's Microbrewery, Newport Storm has hand-crafted more than 60 distinctive brews based on the winning recipe of keeping things small, local, unique and sustainable.
Newport Craft Brewing & Distilling Company, founded as Coastal Extreme Brewing Company in 1999, is a brewery in Newport, Rhode Island, US. It first began brewing beer in 1999, under the Newport Storm brand name.
The Newport Storm Brewery, which also distills Thomas Tew Rum, is a good little side trip if you are in Newport. The brewery is out by the Newport Grand Casino, so if you are downtown, you will need to drive or take the bus. The tour offers tastings of their beer and rum. At 3:00PM they have a guided tour.
