5 Ιουν 2020 · While Nickelodeon aired a lot of acquisitions during this time, it aired a lot of original programming during this era as well, including the show that gave Nickelodeon its original name, Pinwheel, and shows like Mr. Wizard's World and Out Of Control, which are some of the more memorable shows of this era.
Nickelodeon as the channel is without a doubt heading for it's downfall simply because Cable is slowly dying. Nickelodeon the production studio will likely live on. They will continue to make shows for other streamers and for paramount+. Budget problems are likely due to current likely temporary economic times.

It sucks for nickelodeon and nicktoons tho because both are indistinguishable at this point tl;dr nicktoons, and by extension, teen nick, have basically no personality anymore, and nicktoons is essentially indistinguishable from the main channel
It’s Nickelodeon forgetting what Nickelodeon even is anymore. The network lost its magic a decade ago and they are still making the most shameless decisions with their content and creators for god knows how much longer. If you haven’t watched some of the older Nickelodeon shows I’ve mentioned I recommend watching those instead.

Some state officially that a "nickelodeon" was so named as they charged a nickel for their movie prices - but that's factually incorrect. Nickelodeons charged a nickel for a grand total of 2 years, starting in 1905. They kept calling them nickelodeons though until 1915, even though they starting charging 7 cents in 1907, and a dime in 1910.
I remember the day I saw the commercial for this show on Nickelodeon. As that 6 years old back then, I wouldn’t think this show would be my favorite animated series EVER! They don’t make good shows like this anymore.
