North Star Fishing Company is an American company that catches, processes and freezes fish in Alaska. It produces seafood products for global markets and has plants in various countries.
North Star Fishing Co. is one of the seven member companies comprising the Alaska Seafood Cooperative – a cooperative formed in 2008 to ensure the flatfish fisheries in which we operate remain well-managed and are sustainably harvested.
Fishing Focus. Approximately 85% of North Star Fishing Co.’s production is sole and flounder caught in the Bering Sea. This consists primarily of yellowfin sole, rock sole, flathead sole, Alaska plaice and arrowtooth flounder.
The North Star is in the vanguard of a new generation of energy efficient and sustainable fishing vessels working in the Alaskan fisheries and was commissioned by North Star Fishing Co. in 2015. The vessel was designed by Norwegian ship designer, Skipsteknisk AS, and built in Panama City, Florida.
