14 Μαρ 2024 · Either you or your employer may terminate a contract without waiting for the notice period to end. You can do so by paying the other party compensation in lieu of notice (“notice pay”). This is money equivalent to the salary that you would have earned during the required notice period.

The employee has the right to leave before the notice period has ended, by paying the salary in lieu of notice. It is an offence for employers to disallow employees to leave their job (or requiring them to stay on their job till the last day of the notice period).
