CAM is a massive inconvenience for various reasons, and I'd prefer to use something else (another app or just BIOS fan control). I'm seeing dubious answers online, and I don't know whether to trust NZXT on the matter, because of course they want people using CAM. Help would be greatly appreciated.
So I was planning on getting mostly NZXT parts like the Kraken Elite 360 RGB, Duo RGB Fans, the C1200 PSU and maybe the N7 Z790 for my parts, but I read a lot of articles and posts on how bad the CAM Software is, but most of them is pretty old. So I would like to get new opinions on the CAM Software.

19 Μαρ 2021 · Hi! I Have the h510 elite with the x63 aio. I set the 2 front fan for cpu or liquid temperature (usually cpu temp because i run them from the motherboard and set the fan speed from the bios).
9 Ιουν 2021 · As you can see in This picture, while speedfan is showing no cores above 30 degrees, CAM is showing a CPU temp of almost 20 degrees higher. After monitoring the temps for an extended period of time, it seems like CAM consistently displays temps that are 10-25 degrees higher than speedfan, which is a massive difference.
19 Σεπ 2023 · I have the Nzxt N7 Z790. My Kraken Z73 RGB is plugged into the usb hub also sold by nzxt. Maybe I have something plugged in wrong with one of my hubs? My ram rgb freezes the moment signal rgb and nzxt cam are running also which is the most frustrating issue.
Has anyone else had Windows Defender flag NZXT CAM for a PUA:Win32/Softcnapp virus? I removed the virus, and tried to reinstall CAM, but the issue keeps popping up. It seems that CAM cannot run without allowing this virus to remain. Has anyone else had this issue? I'm wondering if this is a false positive, but have been unable to find answers ...
TLDR: After a LOT of hardware + software troubleshooting on my PC, I found a long forum thread about NZXT CAM issues. After disabling the software from startup, I stopped having ANY issues. 30 Ιουν 2020 · CAM Beta is a separate application and can be installed at the same time as NZXT CAM. At the time of installation, your preferences and settings will be pulled from NZXT CAM and brought over to the Beta version, however the two apps are not synced, and any further adjustments to settings will need to be applied to both applications separately.
24 Ιουλ 2022 · I JUST got done with a i7-13700k build and my temps got suspiciously hotter after installing the NZXT CAM software. My running theory is that NZXT CAM changes the Fan and Pump profile to 'Silent mode' which is quieter but also results in higher temps. Once I overrode them to 'Performance mode', my CPU temps dipped back into the 30s.
