The White Elephant Sale has been a success for more than 60 years because of the generosity of our donors, the organizational efforts of the Oakland Museum Women’s Board, and the tireless work of nearly 1,000 volunteers, who sort, clean, tag, and price saleable items.

What is the White Elephant Sale? The Sale is an annual multi-day shopping opportunity, with all proceeds benefiting the Oakland Museum of California. When and where is the Sale? The White Elephant Sale is held every year for several weeks, from late January through early March.
16 Μαρ 2021 · The White Elephant Sale, organized and presented by the Oakland Museum Women’s Board, is the biggest annual fundraising event benefiting the Oakland Museum of California (OMCA). For the past six years, the Sale has raised over $1 Million each year to support OMCA’s programming and exhibitions.

25 Μαρ 2020 · (OAKLAND, CA) March 25, 2020—The 61st annual White Elephant Sale held on March 7 and 8, 2020, and Preview Sale held January 26, 2020, raised over $2.4 million on behalf of the Oakland Museum of California, proving another successful year for the Sale.
