2 Μαΐ 2017 · It may be that the "disappeared emails" are no longer in .dbx format, in which case they may be in either .bak format, or some other compressed format (e.g. .rar). In such a case, the above solution would need to be followed by: dir /s *.bak
Open the message store back up and change the file extension from .bak to .dbx. Close the message store and open OE. The messages should now be back in the folder. If the messages are successfully restored, you can go ahead and delete the old dbx file that you moved to the Desktop.
