After a bit of extra research into the LX3 including this YouTube video three days later it was ordered from your favorite auction site. Did I need it, no, but for £50 I thought why not.
The Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX3, or LX3, is a high-end compact "point and shoot" camera launched by Panasonic in late 2008 to succeed the Lumix LX2.
If you are like me, waiting for the backorder to come, then you may be dissapointed. After I called several vendor who claim the next shipment is 9/8/09 but none of them got anything, I called Panasonic. LX3 is discontinued and there is NO replacement model available nor they will dsiclose such thing exist or not...

I've finally decided to get the Panasonic DMC-LX3. As i started to search an online retailer it seems everyone is out of stock. So i contacted BHPhoto in regards to a status on when the LX3 will be available again.
11 Απρ 2008 · While other manufacturers were piling on Megapixels and longer lenses, Panasonic went with a lower resolution CCD and a bright (but short) lens on its Lumix DMC-LX3. The result was one of the best compact cameras of that era.
Panasonic hasn’t disclosed technical details the sensor in the LX3 beyond claiming that is provides a wider dynamic range and boosts sensitivity and saturation by approximately 40% compared with “ordinary 10-mexapixel compact cameras“.
